What’s depressing about the Dexcom

I desperately want to get my A1C under 7%.

Some days, I do great….others I have no idea what’s sending me through the roof. I love my Dexcom… I’m getting a better picture of what my numbers are like throughout the day, and what I need to work on. But here’s what makes me sad (and its nothing that the Dexcom is doing…its just what its showing me):

The reports.

I felt like I’ve been doing pretty good lately (except for that insane episode with the catastrophic blood sugar last week). Looking at the reports though…I’m not doing as good as I thought I was. I love that the Dexcom shows me my averages, the percent of time I spend in target, low or high. I just don’t love that I’m not in the target range as much as I would like to be.

The good thing is I am able to change it, although it hasn’t been easy to do….I just have to try harder, and that’s what I’m going to do. I need to step it up…I need to exercise more and make an effort to eat lower carb dinners (I’m highest from dinner time to bedtime). I need to keep communication flowing with my doctor so that she can change my basals when patterns pop up. I need that A1C under 7…and its going to happen. I just want it to happen SOON!
