Diabetes Blessings Week, Post #3

I left off yesterday writing about awareness. I feel that the awareness I developed as a child living with Type 1 Diabetes brought about my observation skills. Believe it or not, for me at least, these are Very different.

In regard to my observation skills, they helped me in school, college and my professional life. Learning to be aware of oneself helped me develop observation skills in all areas of my life, especially in the “learning” area.

Yeah, being aware and observing can be one in the same. For me though, they are very different, very specific to which action I am considering during the day depending on the situation. Especially in regards to my Diabetes management.

Thanks, Diabetes. But really, sometimes I’m too damn aware and that kind of sucks. Every once in awhile, I would like to simply Not observe and Just Be. I digress, this is about blessings, not gripes.
