The American Diabetes Association will host the Adopt-A-School Health Gala to empower San Antonio at-risk school districts and their students with diabetes and obesity prevention education.

In Bexar County, diabetes is twice the national average. One out of three children born after the year 2000 will face a future of diabetes if current trends continue. Currently, 23.6 million children and adults in the U.S. have diabetes.

YOU can make a difference! The Adopt-A-School Health Gala is a wonderful opportunity to fund a cause that is so prevalent in our city and costs so many lives. Please join us in helping to make a difference through your financial support.

On August 12th, 2010, community leaders are transported to Un Noche de Havana to experience the tastes and sounds of Old Havana at the Pearl Stable. The Gala will include live music and entertainment, school award ceremony, and recognition of Gala Honorees, Dr. Robert Trevino and Dr. George Rapier III for their contributions to the community.
