I think I've mentioned here before that Eric is a HUGE HUGE Star Wars fan.  You can't turn around in our house and not spot something related to the movie, there are Storm Trooper figures on the mantel, a Star Wars throw blanket over the chair, a "May The Force Be With You" throw pillow on the couch, a Chewbacca figure on his nightstand, a Darth Vader figure on my desk, you get the picture.  Before I met him, I had never seen the movies but over the last 15 years, I've become very very familiar with the Saga.  I have always had a special place in my heart for Darth Vader (not Anakin Skywalker, he's a whiny cry baby bitch) because I admire his ability to choke someone with his mind. In fact, I covet that skill and regularly practice to see if it will work for me. After I acquired my insulin pump and then my CGM, I started to identify more and more with Lord Vader as I could empathize with a human/cyborg hybrid.  Thanks to my dear husband, who enjoys it when I let my inner geek out to play, I now spend my days with Lord Vader watching over me:

Pretty nifty eh?  It's a Darth Vader Tin Tote.  We found it at TRU last weekend (that's Toys R Us for those not properly geek-initiated).  I was excited to realize you could open it up and immediately knew what my preferred use would be:

I find it fitting that my back up diabetes supplies are housed in Lord Vader's head.  It blends in well with the rest of the house and I smile when I look at it.  I also plan to bring him along when we travel this summer and I'm looking forward to having the chance to say "Could you hand me Lord Vader's head please?"
